Electric Vehicle Conversion Warranty
Introduction
This warranty outlines the terms under which Electric Car Convets Ltd. (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides coverage for electric vehicle (EV) conversions performed by our company. By purchasing an EV conversion service from us, you (“the customer”) agree to the following terms.
Warranty Coverage
We provide a 24-month or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first, limited warranty on our EV conversion components and workmanship (extended to 36 months for any cars delivered in 2022/2023). This warranty covers:
• Battery Pack: Warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship but does not cover degradation due to normal wear and tear.
• Electric Motor & Controller: Covers defects in materials and workmanship.
• Charging System: Covers defects in the installed charging unit and associated wiring.
• Power Electronics & Wiring: Covers faults arising from improper installation.
• Conversion Workmanship: Covers any faults resulting from installation errors.
Warranty Exclusions
This warranty does not cover:
• Normal wear and tear of batteries, including natural degradation over time.
• Damage due to misuse, neglect, improper maintenance, or modifications by third parties.
• Damage caused by accidents, fire, flooding, or other external factors.
• Use of non-approved parts, accessories, or modifications.
• Any issues related to pre-existing components of the vehicle not installed by us.
• Loss of range or efficiency beyond the manufacturer’s standard degradation rates.
Warranty Work & Customer Responsibilities
• All warranty work must be carried out at our workshop – we do not cover remote repairs, third-party repairs, or roadside assistance.
• The customer is solely responsible for transporting the vehicle to and from our workshop for warranty repairs.
• We do not arrange or cover the cost of transport, towing, or recovery of the vehicle under any circumstances.
Confidentiality & Warranty Voidance
To protect our proprietary designs and trade secrets, this warranty is immediately void if the customer:
1. Discloses, shares, or publishes any sensitive technical information about our EV conversion process, including but not limited to battery configurations, motor setup, software, or other design details.
2. Shows the converted vehicle to a competitor or allows inspection by another EV conversion company without our prior written consent.
3. Posts or shares detailed images, videos, or descriptions of the conversion process or components without our approval.
We reserve the right to take legal action in the event of an unauthorised disclosure of proprietary information.
Warranty Claim Process
To make a claim under this warranty:
1. Notify us in writing with a detailed description of the issue.
2. Provide proof of purchase and relevant vehicle service records.
3. Arrange transport of the vehicle to our workshop at your expense.
4. If the defect is covered under warranty, we will repair or replace the defective component at our discretion.
7. Liability Limitations
• Our liability under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective part.
• We are not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (e.g., vehicle downtime, towing costs, loss of income, replacement vehicle).
• This warranty is non-transferable unless agreed in writing.
Governing Law
This warranty is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
Customer Responsibilities
To maintain warranty coverage, the customer must:
• Follow all recommended maintenance guidelines.
• Only use compatible and approved charging systems.
• Report any issues promptly to prevent further damage.
